Cold Chain Transportation Testing
We provide a full range of test chambers for Cold Chain transportation and package testing. Cold chain refers to a temperature-controlled supply chain for the storage and distribution of products where specific temperatures are required to be maintained.
Our test chambers are used to simulate temperature and humidity conditions that a package and product may encounter during distribution. Package performance and validation testing is a key aspect of product development. Cold chain testing is performed on a variety of packaged products from food, vaccines, drug products as well as various types of shipping containers. This means that the packaging and products inside also need to survive truck, plane, distribution plant, storage, etc, all while ensuring that the products maintain their required temperatures.
There are many test specifications related to cold chain testing. Some of these common testing standards are outlined by American Society for Test and Measurement (ASTM) and the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA). Some of most common ASTM specification for test chambers are procedures D4169 and D7386 and ISTA 3B, 7D and 7E, which are designed to simulate the temperature of each potential transport scenario in every part of the world.
